Life of a Book Hoarder

27 Books I Love

I’m 27 today and instead of doing my typical Judging A Book post, I thought I would just highlight 27 books I love, in no particular order. These are not my top 27 books of all time (because I could never begin to choose such a small number), just 27 books I really enjoy that came to my mind first.

Also, I’ve been blogging for over a year now (woo hoo!), and I just wanted to thank all my old and new followers, and anyone else who happens to stop by! I’m still getting the hang of this whole blogging thing – scheduling posts, coming up with semi-original topics, taking my own pictures – and I appreciate everyone who has stuck with me or joined me on this journey! So basically, thanks!

Here we go – my one rule is that I’m not going to list multiple books by the same author:

  1. The City of Dreaming Books by Walter Moers
  2. A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
  3. Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
  4. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  5. The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare
  6. The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien
  7. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
  8. Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
  9. Wicked by Gregory Maguire
  10. Bloodsucking Fiends by Christopher Moore
  11. Silver Metal Lover by Tanith Lee
  12. The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
  13. The Stand by Stephen King
  14. NOS4A2 by Joe Hill
  15. Ship Breaker by Paolo Bacigalupi
  16. The Onion Girl by Charles de Lint
  17. The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
  18. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
  19. The Golem and The Jinni by Helene Wecker
  20. The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde (yes, technically it’s a play, but shut up)
  21. The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
  22. A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan
  23. Hood by Stephen Lawhead
  24. The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett
  25. Stardust by Neil Gaiman
  26. Nefertiti by Michelle Moran
  27. Shopgirl by Steve Martin

Have you read any of these books – what did you think?
