It’s been a while, but I’m still alive! I’m still reading a lot, despite my lack of posts. In lieu of the Judging post that I missed (again) and my Nostalgia posts (which I haven’t done in forever), here’s a book that’s a bit of a combination of the two.
This book used to belong to my aunt and currently lives with my father, but I remember looking at it often as a child. I loved all the full-color illustrations and the glossy pages. Mostly I remember just turning the pages a lot, running my fingers over the words, as though I actually cared about what bird was located where, etc. Haha. I probably tried to draw some of the birds as well, but I’m pretty sure I mostly just stared at this book. Picking it up again at my dad’s reminded me that I still love the glossy pages and it was interesting to see what sections the book wanted to open up to – I assume they’re the pages I looked at most, or perhaps my aunt and father, who actually used it for bird watching many years ago. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of any of the copyright information, so I have no idea when this particular edition was published, but I imagine sometime in the late 60s or early 70s.
That’s my handwriting on the 1997 date, so I’m not actually sure my aunt officially gave it to me or just let me look at it all the time. I do actually have a paperback copy of this book that I bought online, but I much prefer the copy my dad has.
I think my aunt made a few notes in this book here and there.
