This is my weekly post where I highlight and appreciate cover designs and the general physical appearance of books. We all judge book covers to some extent. I can’t say that I’ve ever decided against a book with terrible cover art if I liked the sound of the plot, but I have purchased special editions of books or multiple editions of books based on their cover art. If book covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t put out so many beautiful editions!
Bad Girls Throughout History is a beautiful book that’s written and illustrated by Ann Shen. There’s a couple paragraphs about each woman with little tidbits about what made (or makes, for those still alive) her so awesome. I’d heard of most of the women, but I learned a few facts about them, like how Dr. Ruth was trained as a sniper! This is a fantastic coffee table book. Published this year, by Chronicle, ISBN: 9781452153933.
This one looks really cool! Illustrations look nice.

Seems like a pretty interesting book. I usually just stick to fiction- paranormal/fantasy type stuff- but enjoy browsing through this kind of non-fiction every now and then =)
Oh and…not sure if I’m doing this right since I’m new to all this, but I’ve nominated you for The Blogger Recognition Award! If you’re able to accept and participated please visit my post for the rules here: https://maniacalbookunicorn.wordpress.com/2016/12/05/the-blogger-recognition-award/

Ooooooo! Is this middle grade level, or is it for all ages? This *looks* like it would be a wonderful book to empower little girls, but just wanted to double check there isn’t any adult content lol

Uh weeeeellll. Betty Page is in there and Mata Hari. They’re not like, vulgar, but I mean, lol. Most of the profiles are appropriate for younger ages though.
