This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent – I created this feature to highlight and appreciate the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t put out so many wonderful editions!
If you haven’t guessed by now, I’m head over heels for Chris Riddell’s illustrations and Neil Gaiman’s writing. So yeah, I’m just getting as much of their work as I can, both separately and together. This lovely edition of The Sleeper and the Spindle is a short story of Gaiman’s, illustrated by Riddell, with a vellum dust jacket, gold accents, and it’s about the size of a children’s book. What more could you ask for!? Published in 2015 by Harper, ISBN: ISBN: 9780062398246.
Wooo!! Love the illustrations!

I read this one last year, but I listened to it on audiobook. I really need to request it from the library so I can see all the illustrations. Have you read it?

Yes, it’s fabulous. I think I’d read it in a shorts collection a while back, but the illustrations really make the story.
