Judging A Book

Judging A Book By Its Cover: Beauty and the Beast

This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent – I created this feature to highlight and appreciate the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t put out so many wonderful editions!

This fabulous work of art was gifted to me for Christmas and now I need the set (also consisting of Peter PanThe Jungle Book and the upcoming Little Mermaid and Secret Garden) because they’re all gorgeous and I love sets. Beauty and the Beast is by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, illustrated by Minalima, published in 2017 by HarperDesign, ISBN: 9780062456212. It has all these beautifully designed inserts and interactive pieces, not to mention full-color illustrations and little detailing like the images under the page numbers. The cover isn’t lying when it says lavish!
