This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent – I created this feature to highlight and appreciate the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t put out so many wonderful editions!
This won’t surprise any of my readers, but I requested this book from LibraryThing primarily because of the cover. I was pleased to find out I’d won it, but now I’m afraid to touch it because it has the lovely, soft, matte cover and my gross fingerprints will only ruin it! It was published in 2018 by Candlewick Press, ISBN: 9780763691103. I’m sorry, but I have no idea who designed the cover! There’s no designer listed anywhere in the book (maybe an intern used clip art or a Photoshop brush and no one wanted to give them credit) and a quick Google search revealed nothing. If you happen to know, leave me a comment and I’ll update this.
