Drunk Tag

Wow so finally I’m buzzed AND I remembered to do this tag that my girl Chels helped create about 1.5 million years ago and that I meant to do way sooner! But, when I sit around drinking wine, I tend to forget to blog, ya know? And I wanted to be legit tipsy when writing up this tag. So it’s taken a while…

+ Wine Coolers: You’re 16 and you finally managed to sneak one of your mom’s Smirnoff Ices. What is one of your most guilty pleasure reads?

I really don’t feel guilty for reading anything! I read what I want – get outta my face! But, something I used to devour for its petty drama and fashion name-dropping was the Gossip Girl series. I don’t think I could stomach that shit anymore, but you never know.

+ Beer: You’ve made it to college and are hosting your first kegger! Pick your favorite new adult or college-aged book.

Welllllll…I don’t read new adult (really isn’t it just YA with sex? ) and I can’t really think of a book I like with a college-aged protag, though I’m not saying there isn’t one. That’s the problem with doing a tag while tispy…

Also, I never went to a kegger, in or out of college

+ Tequila: You partied too hard last night and drank a liiittle too much Jose Cuervo. What’s a book that you never want to see again (or, your least favorite book)?

Bridget Jones’s Diary: The Edge of Reason. You may recall me chucking it out my front door and Chels tossing it into her pool. (Sorry, I don’t know where the clips are, but they exist!) And also Lumiere because that’s one of the worst books I’ve ever read.

+ Beer Bong: What’s a book that you read super-fast?

I’ve also never done a beer bong, or shotgunned a beer, nor do I have a desire to. But Austenland is one of those books I can fly through over and over! And it has less calories than beer!

+ SPRING BREAK!!!!: You’ve thrown your inhibitions to the wind and end up having a sexy night you’ll never forget. What is your favorite smutty read?

Hmmm…I’m not a sexy person, nor do I read a lot of smut. But The Girl in 6E was both smutty and exciting!

+ Screwdriver: What the most twisted (HEH) book you’ve ever read?

I don’t read a lot of taboo or fucked up stuff (though if you have recs I’m totally open to them, so hit me up)  but The Sad Tale of the Brother’s Grossbart has got to be one of the most strange and disturbing fantasy-esque books I’ve ever read.

+ Long Island Ice Tea: The melting pot of alcoholic beverages. What is one of your favorite diverse reads?

THE LONG WAY TO A SMALL ANGRY PLANET. Oops, am I shouting in your face? Well, if you like sci-fi and haven’t read that, you really need to, or I’ll keep shouting in your face. It’s deff not the end-all-be-all in terms of diversity,  but there’s a lot of rep in the series and like, cross-species relationships, so that feels pretty diverse.

+ Sex on the Beach: A drink that’s great in theory, but wasn’t exactly all it was cracked up to be. What is a book that just didn’t live up to the hype?

Throne of Ass – ok, I know this book has a huge following and I’m unapologetically harsh when I talk about it. But, I really do want to like YA and I was sold on a young female assassin in a fantasy world, complete with faeries…yet….WTF is this book!? An assassin that does no assassining!? I’ll never get over this! She’s the most lame, weak, pathetic “badass” heroine I’ve come across in YA. AND I’LL NEVER STOP FEELING BETRAYED.

+ Wine: You’ve just gone through a rough break-up, so you park yourself in bed with your favorite bottle of wine, some ice-cream, and a bucket for your tears. Name a book that made you cry out all of your feels.

First off, excuse me, because I drink my favorite wine, like, all the damn time. It’s not just for sadness, ok!? But, seriously, I’lll NEVER stop mentioning LOVE SONG OF QUEENIE HENNESSY. BUT! You gotta read The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry first, in order to maximize the devastating feels of Queenie. Just trust me.

And if you did trust me, please message me so we can talk about our feels and  I can cry all over the place again. Legit, it’s hard for me to TALK about this book without tearing up. I just…

YOU GOTTA READ IT!

+ Strip Club! Your favorite naked hardback.

Yo, I never been to a strip club either. Though, I have seen a male stripper at a bachelorette. Let me say, 3/10 would not recommend!

But! My Rifle Paper Co. Alice in Wonderland is pretty fab. Also like, half of my Pride and Prejudice collection….actually….most of it is naked and most of it is friggen gorge. That’s why I have so many editions!

~

Ok! So, this is a tag I legitimately did while under the influence of alcohol. I hope you enjoy it and if you do it, tag me so I can see your (hopefully authentically tipsy/drunk answers)!

  1. Oohh! I’m gonna do this too.
lol YA with sex is how I think of new adult too. I just didn’t see the point of a whole new age group.
And I need to read Girl in 6E. I’ve only heard good things and have heard it compared to You by Caroline Kepnes too.
