This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent – I created this feature to highlight and appreciate the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t put out so many wonderful editions!
If you haven’t read my recent nostalgic review (and semi-criticism) of this lovely new edition of Sailor Moon, you might want to check that out. Naturally getting my hands on a literally shiny new edition means I’d be doing a Judging post. I also realized I’d never done any Judging posts on the small paperback mangas I own – so they’ll be incorporated into the posts as I acquire the special editions.
The holographic edition was published in 2018 by Kodansha Comics with lettering by Lys Blakeslee and cover by Phil Balsman, ISBN: 9781632361523
The (mass market?) edition was published in 2011 also by Kodansha Comics with lettering by North Market Street Graphics, ISBN: 9781935429746
