This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent (don’t lie, you totally do!) I created this feature to showcase and admire the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t make so many wonderful editions!
You know I had to get my hands on this Pride and Prejudice retelling by Ibi Zoboi. And while I haven’t read it yet, I do plan to read it this month! It was published in 2018 by Balzer + Bray and has jacket art by Billelis and T.S. Abe and jacket design and lettering by Jenna Stempel-Lobell, ISBN: 9780062564047.
I love the jacket and the naked spine. I just wish there were some embellishments on the interior – well aside from the end pages! Those are beautiful too! But I feel like they could have really committed and added some chapter embellishments too!
I honestly feel like this is one of the most stunning books that came out last year. I LOVE the bright teal and the end papers. The cover is just absolutely gorgeous. I would buy it just for my shelf!

Oh yeah! It definitely caught my eye when it was released and not just because I love Austen retellings! I just wish they’d gone all the way and added some thought to the pages/text/chapters

That’s beautiful! Love the spine without the dust jacket!

Me too! It’s very vintage looking. Overall I like how they mixed vintage and modern design elements
