This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent (don’t lie, you totally do!) I created this feature to showcase and admire the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t make so many wonderful editions!
Naturally, I was happy to get my hands on this children’s book about Jane Austen. Admittedly, I thought it would be more of a…not quite chapter book, but maybe one of those books that are like 30-50 pages for early readers. Anyone know what I’m talking about? Anyway, this a large picture book for children, so, less detailed than I was hoping, but totally adorable. I definitely recommend it for early readers (or listeners) who appreciate non-fiction and us older readers who love to get our hands on everything Austen.
It’s written by Deborah Hopkinson, with delicate illustrations by Qin Leng, and was published in 2018 by Balzer + Bray, ISBN: 9780062373304.
Love that two-page spread that shows inside the house. I’ll have to go find a copy of this book.
