Judging A Book

Judging A Book By Its Cover: Dear Milli

This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent (don’t lie, you totally do!) I created this feature to showcase and admire the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t make so many wonderful editions!

Dear Milli by Wilhelm Grimm, is “newly translated” by Ralph Manheim and illustrated by Maurice Sendak, published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux in 1988.

Given that I’m Millie and I was born in 88, I needed to get this book. Also I love Sendak’s work. Also I love fairy tales. My point is, how could I not buy this book!?

Mother: Milli, stop buying more books
Milli: I don’t understand

I love how this conductor dude is super casual…

  1. Lol! I was cracking up because when I saw the title of the post and pic of the cover in my WordPress Reader thing, I was planning to ask you if you got the book because you name is in the title.
