This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent (don’t lie, you totally do!) I created this feature to showcase and admire the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t make so many wonderful editions!
Today I bring you a group of middle-grade and YA fiction that I bought at the last Scholastic warehouse sale I attended. Unsurprisingly, I haven’t read any of these yet! But they all look good.
Skyward by Brandon Sanderson has jacket art by Charlie Bowater (whose work is amazing!) and jacket design by Regina Flath, published in 2018 by Delacorte Press, ISBN: 9780399555770.
Dry by Neal and Jarrod Shusterman has jacket illustration by Jay Shaw and jacket design by Chloe Foglia, published in 2018 by Simon & Schuster, ISBN: 9781481481960.
Front Desk by Kelly Yang has jacket art by Maike Plenzke and jacket design by Maeve Norton, published in 2018 by Arthur A. Levine Books, ISBN: 9781338157796.
Orphan Island by Laurel Snyder has jacket art by David Litchfield and jacket design by Amy Ryan, published in 2017 by Walden Pond Press, ISBN: 9780062443410.
Love those covers!
People are going crazy for Skyward. I’ve actually never read a Sanderson book before… Have you read many of his books?

I’ve only read Warbreaker, which is adult fantasy. I’m wild about it. But all his books are chonkers. Lol and I kind of just want to read Warbreaker again?

That’s exactly why I haven’t picked up any of his books lol

I don’t mind big books once I start reading, but it takes me a while to convince myself to start.

This reminds me how clever the cover for Dry is…for the longest time I thought it was a blanket that was on fire, lol.
