Zezee tagged me for the 1o Year Challenge and much like her, I wasn’t tracking what I was reading 10 years ago. I started keeping track of what I read in 2011 and I started blogging in 2014. I’m just going to go ahead and look at my tracker for 2011 and try to answer these.
+ What was your favorite book in 2011?
Let’s go with True Grit – I saw the movie, then read the book and was happy to love both.
+ What is your favorite book of 2019?
I can’t say yet – I’m not done reading for the year!
+ What was your least favorite book in 2011?
The Once and Future King – I DNF’d it, so I think that says it all. I recall being bored out of my mind.
+ What was your least favorite book of 2019?
I can’t say yet – I’m not done reading for the year!
+ What is a book published in 2011 that you still want to read?
I have no idea, but I’m sure there are many on my shelves.
+ What is a book published in 2019 you want to get to before 2020?
Unnatural Magic – yes, I just picked a random book and googled whether it was published this year. I don’t pay a lot of attention to when a book is published.
+ What is a genre you used to read a lot of that you don’t read as much of anymore?
I think I probably did read more YA in high school. I definitely ate up the Gossip Girl series and there’s no way I could read that anymore.
+ What is a new genre you’ve discovered since 2011?
Uhm, does ‘new weird’ count? Jeff Vandermeer? Yes?
+ What is a reading or book habit you are hoping to leave behind in this decade?
In her tag, Zezee mentions that she would like to stop procrastinating writing down her thoughts about a book, and I’m going to steal that answer. I’ve been slacking on my reviews lately because I set the book down and then forget to type out an outline or notes right after reading. Then weeks go by and when I sit down to review it, I don’t remember anything! I’m not great at taking notes while reading either.
+ What is a new reading goal or habit you want to create in the upcoming decade?
I’d like to read more from my backlist and try to curb my spending at least a liiiiiitle. -cackle-

If you want to do this, consider yourself tagged.
Yes! Sometimes I wait so long to write a review, I just give up, because I no longer have concrete thoughts about the book!

Yeah it’s happened to me a lot lately in the past couple months. End of year slump. My “to blog about” pile is growing and I’m still not taking notes lol.

We have over 30 drafts on the blog right now. I keep having ideas and then I have no time to write.

I have plenty of time to write, I just haven’t made it a priority.

Glad you did it! 😀
I had to read the Once and Future King for middle or high school and I straight up DNF’d it too. It was so boring. I’d like to read Unnatural Magic as well. It sounds like it might be good and I hope so because I really like the cover.

I really thought Once would be fun. I like Arthurian stuff and some classics. And like Merlin just kept transforming Arthur into shit. So bizarre but boring.
Maybe we should try to buddy read Unnatural Magic? It could go better than Merlin. Lol

Yes! 😀 I’ll be up for that in the New Year, like end of January or so. Would that work? I’m flexible from the end of january onward. 🙂

I hope you enjoy it if you try. I really thought I’d like it, but I’m not sure I know anyone whose read it.

I think it came on my radar because Cornelia Funke loves it…but it doesn’t always translate when I try to read one of my favourite author’s favourite authors.
