Judging A Book

Judging A Book By Its Cover: Edward Gorey (II)

This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent (don’t lie, you totally do!) so I created this feature to showcase and admire the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t make so many wonderful editions!

I apologize for some blurry photos, but I couldn’t get my editor to cooperate and I took too many photos and I’m tired, so you get what you get LOL.

I’m here today with the rest of my Edward Gorey collection. I’d love to be able to collect more of his work, but I know it’s out of print and can get rather expensive (seems like even reprints are rare), so what I’ve got might be all I end up with.

  1. Edward Gorey had a wondrous, distinctive style. The kind of illustrations, filled with dark humor and atmosphere, that I’ve enjoyed lingering over. He was one of a kind.
