This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent (don’t lie, you totally do!) so I created this feature to showcase and admire the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t make so many wonderful editions!
I read Sorcery & Cecelia sometime in middle school, I believe, and I know I read The Grand Tour, though I remember next to nothing about these books, except that I like them. I’m looking forward to re-reading them at some point so I can read the third book for the first time and I’m hoping my love for them holds up. But until then, enjoy the lovely covers!
This series, written by Patricia C. Wrede and Caroline Stevermer, features cover designs by Kelly Eismann and was published by Harcourt.
Sorcery & Cecelia – cover illustration by Scott M. Fischer, published in 2003, ISBN: 015205300X
The Grand Tour – cover illustration by Tristan Elwell, published in 2004, ISBN: 0152055568
The Mislaid Magician – cover illustration also by Tristan Elwell, published in 2006, ISBN: 9780152062095
These covers match nicely considering the artist changed after the first book – I really appreciate this!
Thank you so much for this review! I was looking for the cover designer’s name to credit and those are so absurdly hard to find unless you have the copy in your hands. (Which of course I almost never do.)

Thanks for the kind words! When I took over the series from Scott it was very important that the look stay consistent.

You did a fantastic job! I wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t been looking up the info for the post. This is a lovely little collection and I thank you for your part in creating the covers!
