This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent (don’t lie, you totally do!) so I created this feature to showcase and admire the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t make so many wonderful editions!
Hello. I’m bringing you three more recent acquisitions today, none of which I’ve read yet. I can probably stop saying that, as most of you should be used to the fact that I own many unread books.
The Binding, written by Bridget Collins, has cover illustrations by Bilwissedition Ltd and Co. KG, and was published in 2020 by William Morrow, ISBN: 9780062838100.
Vengeance Road, written by Erin Bowman, has a cover illustration by Teagan White, and was published in 2015 by HMH, ISBN: 9780544938403.
Hoodoo was written by Ronald L. Smith and has cover illustrations by Sebastian Skrobol and cover design by Lisa Vega, and was published in 2015 by HMH, ISBN: 9780544935617.
Me, just taking in 2020.
Oooh all of these have great covers but The Binding is particularly pretty. I hope you get to these soon 🙂

I certainly judge books on their covers — its the first impression you get when seeing a book. These books have wonderful illustrations on the covers and in the text. Especially Vengeance Road, with its intricate illustration and fantastic typeface. Beautiful!

These are all so striking! I don’t know if you’ve seen the dark blue edition of The Binding but I love that as well…

Yes I have! I’m sorely tempted to own both, but I need to read it first to see if I love it before I start hoarding editions 🤣
