Monthly Wrap Up

August Wrap Up

In August I read 9 books for a total of 2,319 pages and an average of 75 pages per day. The number of books I read this month scaled down, but I did conquer a 900-page book, which is something I haven’t done in a long time!

In terms of quality, I had kind of a meh reading month. Becky Chambers and Tanith were rereads for me, while Mem, Pet, Embassy, and Cinderella all ended up being somewhat disappointing. Kushiel’s Dart was a win, but it was also my first time reading a heckin’ chonker fantasy in a long time, so it took me a while to get through even though I was enjoying it.

Lest anyone should suppose that I am a cuckoo’s child, got on the wrong side of the blanket by lusty peasant stock and sold into indenture in a short fallen season, I may say that I am House-born and reared in the Night Court proper, for all the good it did me.

Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron
First Sentence:
Cinderella has been dead for two hundred years.

Masters of the Broken Watches by Razi Imam
First Sentence:
