Judging A Book

Judging A Book By Its Cover: The Ten Thousand Doors of January

This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent (don’t lie, you totally do!) so I created this feature to showcase and admire the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t make so many wonderful editions!

A few weeks ago I went into a bookstore for the first time in months. I was looking for Well Met, which I did find. But the store layout was different than I recall, thanks to, you know, 2020 being what it is – so on my way I also found this lovely!

The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow has a cover design by Lisa Marie Pompilio and illustrations from Shutterstock; this is the first edition paperback published in 2020 by Redhook, ISBN: 9780316421973.
