I want to try out something a little more informal today. This rant may or may not turn out to be so mini; we’ll see. Rather than taking a deep-dive into why I despised a book (example: my R.L. Stine reviews), I’m just going to pop-off and ramble about various things I disliked. I don’t even know if this will make sense, so buckle up!
Malamander is an illustrated, middle-grade, modern fantasy and it was…well…ok.
If you missed it, I reviewed the original Earthsea trilogy – which was technically a reread for me, but it felt like a new experience because I couldn’t remember, like, any details. Now I’m back to review the later books in the series!
While browsing my local library, I noticed Six Months, Three Days, Five Others and between its small size and strange cover art, I had to know what it was about. The sci-fi collection appealed to me, but I noticed the note about a short related to another of Anders’s books, All the Birds in the Sky. I didn’t want to feel like I was missing anything so I borrowed both.
Bob has been on my list for a while and while I was on vacation with Mel, she grabbed it at one of the stores we were at and told me I had to buy it. How could I say no?!

Time for a couple more mini-reviews – a book I quite enjoyed and a book that turned out to be rather a huge disappointment.
I love being excited about books I love and of course I enjoy recommending reads to people and sharing our mutual love for great books. It’s maybe not as fun as trashing bad books, but you can’t have the bad without the good!
Sometimes I want to review a book, but I don’t have all that much to say. Rather than push myself to come up with a review that I didn’t enjoy writing (and likely you didn’t enjoy reading), or not mention the book at all, I’ll post a mini review.
